lo: to identify the features on a magazine front cover; to explore genre codes and conventions
magazine front covers
masthead-the name of the brand/ title of the magazine is usually at the top
dateline- usually in small writing someone on the side of the magazine
main image- always in the middle of the magazine quite large to draw peoples attentions
cover lines- small writing on the sides of the magazine so people know what its about inside
main cover line- usually on the side of the magazine but in bolder,bigger writing than the other cover lines
bar code/price- usually at the bottom of the magazine
tagline/ strap line- a strap line appears at the bottom of an ad and sums up the essence of the brand or company
-vogue is the masthead
-dateline underneath vogue in small writing
-rihanna is the main image in the centre of the page
-main cover line is rebel !
-cover lines either side of main image
